Wokay..
Yes, I admit I was as enthusiastic as The Last Knight regarding the so-called astronomical phenomenon observed by us.. Its all his fault though.. His excitement was contagious... I should have realised that he was not as apt at astronomical observations as he claimed!!! But anyways..I really dont want to remind him of that astronomical club entry quiz!!! Am sure there will be a post full of vehement denials and baseless accusations!!!

New satellites
Hahahaha... Haven't thought about that astronomical episode in a long time... To get the facts straight, I saw this thing which looked like a star right next to the moon, for the first time in my life. Never having seen any other heavenly body right next to the moon, I was naturally rather curious, and more than a little excited upon seeing this sight. I promptly called up Sidler, and he confirmed that what I was seeing really did exist, and wasn't just a product of my imagination. Upon this, I jumped to my first conclusion:
"It's a new man-made satellite!!!"
I called up G next, proposed my theory to him, asked him if he had a pair of binoculars, and suggested we three convene on his terrace to study this new object in the sky more closely. He sounded a little dubious about the satellite theory, but agreed to take part in the investigation.
Oh, did I mention, Sidler was as excited as I was (a statement which he'll hotly contest, no doubt... :P). He came running from two blocks away, practically beside himself with excitement, and ran up the stairs to G's place at full tilt, after which he spent the next ten minutes gasping for breath.
G led us up to his terrace, and armed with a pair of 'beach binoculars' [:D], we studied the object to the best of our abilities... Various theories were propounded, most of them by an admittedly somewhat enthusiastic lastknight [:P], including the particularly exciting idea that it was a supernova... After about an hour of this, it dawned on us that we had exams not far away, and we regretfully went back to our respective homes. We may not have solved the mystery, nor did the next day's newspaper mention anything about a new supernova [:P], but it had certainly been a rather fun evening.
Oh, and as always, G beat me to to it, with the post about our erstwhile phone calls... :) Yes, like the man said, there was indeed a time when our telephonic conversations were thirty seconds long... :D

Sidler
MAKES IT HAPPEN....
TLK came up with that...
TLK- A man who is already showing the signs of a promising MBA Grad....
TLK came up with that...
TLK- A man who is already showing the signs of a promising MBA Grad....
HOW DO YOU TELL IF A JOKE IS GOOD OR NOT-by TLK and G
IF SIDLER ROLLS ON THE GRASS LAUGHING...
THEN GETS UP LAUGHING SO HARD THAT HE CHOKES....
GASPS...
Sputters...
AND LAUGHS AGAIN.....
THEN GETS UP LAUGHING SO HARD THAT HE CHOKES....
GASPS...
Sputters...
AND LAUGHS AGAIN.....
Hmmm....
Well as some people shall(with a minimal amount of intellect)..see that some things never change....
TLK and Sidler still fight to find out who knows more....
And yet again G remains a silent spectator...
It has been going on for quite some time you see...
It all began at that gate....Yep a Gate...where TLK would stand on one side and G and Sidler would stand on the other...and we would yap away to glory...
Though I must admit there were several times when I would stand as the silent spectator as two gladiators would battle it out till they could prove to someone that they knew more than the other about HARRY POTTER SPELLS BY GOD!!
This went on for quite some time...(it still does...if you get what I mean..though in a different format ofcourse..)
One fine night...I get a phone call(yes it was around 8.30-9pm) when an excited soul cried out...
'WE CAN SEE THE SPACE STATION...
WE CAN SEE MARS.....
WE CAN SEE A SUPERNOVA EXPLOSION.....
Dude do you have a pair of Binoculars!!??'
I said-'Yeah!!(equally excited)..I think I do....'
The gentleman on the phone says-'Mind if we come to your terrace?'
G-' Sure!!'
*click* the line goes dead.....
(PS. There was a time when our phone conversations were as short as 2-5 seconds..)
A few tense minutes pass...
Two gentleman arrive at the door of c-1/1651..
One of the two is huffing and puffing...the other has a manic glint in his eye...
It seemed like the Trio...(was also named the Three Musketeers by TLK's dad) was embarking on a quest that would change the history of Mankind(well....hypothetically speaking)..
We went up to the terrace...
Chose a spot and looked up at the skies hoping to catch a glimpse of the heavenly bodies mentioned above...
We stayed a good 1.5-2 hours trying to find out if we could see something...
But after a lot of deliberation came to the conclusion that the sky was either too cloudy or too polluted to see anything...
And thus began the chain of events that led us to believe that....Life Loves to Kick us.....

Correction
Sidler, you did not outscore me "most of the time" in the quiz club! Nonsense! Maybe once in a while, but I could hold my own! Sure, when it came to the úber-geeky types of questions about countries and capitals and currencies, you knew more, and also with regard to sports, but when it came to trivia, I could, and still can, take you on anytime!
'Twas rather a collaborative effort in the good 'ol Columban quiz, though... And if it weren't for the evident disparity in the level of the questions in the picture round, we'd have gotten through to the blasted finals for sure!
While on the topic of Sarcasm and Sadism, I'd like to say that my contribution to the former was more through flippancy, irreverency and facetiousness than anything else... And as for the latter, you and G were more than sufficient to account for the entire quota of the Senate! :P
Of course, it also must be said that of late, things have taken quite a turn... Sidler has become (so he claims) a man of patience, a man of reticence, a man of seemingly infinite forbearance... And as for G and I, well... let's just say that G's teenage persona wouldn't have been very surprised, but mine certainly would have been... :D
When the Three next meet, things shall be revealed for what they really are... And Sidler's purported newfound patience shall be... well, tested. :D
To quote my good friend G, "Muahahahahaha!"
